The Do It At Home Series: Variation On a Burpee!

We're approaching the 4th of July break so we thought we'd bring you a total-body exercise that works lots of muscles, gets the heart rate up and is easy to make easier or harder, depending on what you're feeling like.  Here, Marco, one of Evanston's finest personal trainers, takes us on his variation on a burpee!
Marco explains this really well but here are some points to drive home:​
  • To make things easier, limit your range of motion (in fact, if you can't reach down to the ground after the baby squat, you can always make your way to an elevated plank with your hands on a countertop, for example)
  • To make things harder you can add a pushup at the bottom of your plank
  • This could be an entire workout. How? Do 4-6 reps on the minute for 10-15 minutes (meaning you start your reps at the top of the minute and use whatever you have left over as rest; start back up again at the top of the next minute)
